NOTE – An update to this policy is coming as we are moving to Fathom Analytics. Check with Carol or Jermey before following this policy.
To check for Analytics on website
- Load a web page in the Chrome browser.
- Right-click the page, then click View page source.
- You should see a lot of code. Search the page for gtag. js or analytics. js (for Universal Analytics) or ga. js (for Classic Analytics)
- use gtm to search for google tag manager
If Analytics is already present: use saved reply “no access to analytics” OR “Google analytics – need access”
If Analytics is not present:
1. Go to the admin section of the analytics dashboard and create a new property/account.
2. Install and activate Monsterinsights plugin on website – note that we are connecting using our own Google Account, so be sure to select the correct website data to bring into the report. Google will ask you to sign in again to re-authenticate another website, so clients we won’t to have access to other client’s data as long as you select the correct data to bring in initially.
