Copying Task Projects in Asana

Summary:When we have a site that is Upgrading, Downgrading, or Cancelling their plan with us:

  1. Under “Teams” click on “templates” and choose the project you want to copy
  2. Next to the “Upgrade or Downgrade plans” template, click the “…” and choose “Duplicate Project”
  1. Make sure the project name includes the name of the website the project is being applied to
  2. Make sure all boxes under “include” are checked so the whole template is copied and click “Create Project”
  3. You will see the project being created in the lower left-hand corner of your screen. When the project has been created and the link turns blue, click on the link to open it
  4.  Highlight all tasks (click on the top task, hold shift +click the last task) and copy them into the correct project (website) by clicking on the 6 dots to the left of the top task and dragging them
  5. Now that the tasks have been removed from the current project, you will have an empty (blank) template in front of you. Make sure to remove it by clicking the “…” (project actions) at the top, and then selecting “Delete Project”
  6. Click on the correct project (website) and make sure all items were copied over and the top task is assigned to the correct person
